ARTIST STATEMENT
Ekaterina Makarova is a visual artist working between photography and painting.
Her practice explores presence through structure.
The body is approached not as narrative, but as architecture.
Reduction becomes a method of clarity.
Across her projects, emotion is not illustrated — it is disciplined.
Form is constructed through tension, balance and restraint.
The image is treated as a deliberate spatial system rather than a captured moment.
Working between digital and material processes, Makarova maintains a consistent structural language:
form over effect,
structure over gesture,
clarity over sentiment.
Her work investigates the relationship between body, silence and constructed space within contemporary visual culture.
